If you’ve gotten one of my cards we may have talked about this already. Otherwise, in brief, I’ll explain it here.
When I first started publishing, I knew, just knew, that as an official, serious, working author I had to go by “Joseph.” It is, after all, my legal name, and anything less would have been unprofessional.
The problem is, regardless of my hopes and wishes and goals as a writer, I’ve never been all that serious a person, never much cared how I’m perceived, and instead of making me feel professional it’s always made me feel weird because I’ve really only ever gone by “Joe” anyway.
Eventually, my current book covers will be updated, I’ll have a less pretentious URL, this whole page can be deleted, and new visitors will be none the wiser. For the time being, since the other end of this does actually look kind of funny, please enjoy my dumbass mistake.
